Happy Valentine’s Day from your Yellow Rose Realty family! This year, we’re sharing a special story – the one behind our business. It’s a Bryson City love story that is as genuine and welcoming as our community. And it’s an extra special year for us, as we’re celebrating 30 years in business!
Our owners, Johnny and Dena, met in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1989. Dena was visiting her mom, who worked at the Yellow Rose Restaurant. Johnny happened to be there, and Dena’s mom, recognizing a good match, introduced them. A connection sparked, and after dating, they decided to move to Johnny’s hometown, Bryson City, in 1990. They married in 1991, and in 1995, Yellow Rose Realty opened its doors.
Johnny and Dena’s shared passion for real estate and their commitment to each other have been the foundation of our business for these past 30 years. It’s a true family affair. Their son, Ross, earned his NC Real Estate license in 2019 and joined Yellow Rose Realty, bringing fresh energy and expertise to the team. He’s not just a Realtor, though! Ross is also a licensed contractor who builds homes in Western North Carolina with his company, Ensley Homes, alongside his dad, Johnny!
The family continues to grow, and the love story expands! Ross and Alessandra met in 2023. Alessandra, originally from Brazil, was here on an interexchange program in Tennessee when their paths crossed. They will be celebrating their wedding on October 4th this year. We’re so happy for them! Alessandra has also become a valuable part of the Yellow Rose Realty team as our Marketing Coordinator, bringing fresh ideas and energy to our marketing efforts.
From that initial meeting at the Yellow Rose Restaurant to building a thriving business over three decades, Johnny and Dena’s story, along with Ross and Alessandra’s blossoming romance, reflects the values we hold dear at Yellow Rose Realty: community, hard work, and lasting relationships. This Valentine’s Day, we’re celebrating these stories, our 30th anniversary, and the entire Yellow Rose Realty family. Our dedicated team of eight Realtors, along with our amazing support staff, manage over 90 vacation rentals, ensuring our guests have unforgettable experiences. From the front desk to the laundry room, our own dream team makes it all happen!

The location of the cabin is so wonderful! You are so close to many conviences, but feel like you are the only ones on the ountain. The sunsets are amazing from the hot tub! The cozy feel of the cabin is a highlight. It’s the perfect size for a romantic getaway.

The cabin was quiet, but close enough to different things. We thoroughly enjoyed the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, and we definitely want to come back…It was a great way to spend our 20th anniversary.
