Horseback Riding
The Loft is Family operate the stable and offer guided trips on trails in the Nantahala National Forest. No experience is necessary for your Western style trail ride. You are sure to enjoy views of Fontana Lake and some guests see (and hear!) the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad as it begins its journey through the Nantahala Gorge.
Groups are welcome and the maximum number of people for a trip is 15. Advance reservations are strongly recommended for groups of 7 or more people. Usually, 1-6 people can reserve a trip a few days in advance or take a trip on a walk-up basis. Small children may ride alone on Katie (a pony), or small horses. Children under 5 years old ride for half price when riding with an adult.
